The Desert

Climate:

A place doesn't have to be hot and dry to be considered a desert as you may think. It can be hot and dry, but it can also be cold and dry. That's right. Cold and dry. In a hot and dry desert, it can be 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. In the cold desert's summer it is 21-26 degrees. The winter is 2 to 4 degrees.

Annual Rainfall:

In the hot and dry desert, you only receive under 15 cm of rain yearly, while in the cold and dry desert, you receive 15 to 26 cm, including snow.

Local Wildlife:

The desert is a habitat for Armadillo Lizards, Banded Gila Monsters, Bobcats, Cactus Wrens, Coyotes, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Desert Kangaroo Rats, Desert Tortoises, Javelinas, Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy Owls, Sonoran Desert Toads, Sonoran Pronghorn Antelopes, and Thorny Devils. These and other animals live with Barrel Cacti, Brittle Bushes, Chainfruit Cholla, Creosote Bushes, Crimson Hedgewood Cacti, Desert Ironwoods, Joshua Trees, Jumping Cholla, Mojave Asters, Ocotillo, Palo Verde, Pancake Prickly Pear Cacti, Saguaro Cacti, Soaptree Yucca, and Triangle-leaf Bursage. The desert is a cool, or should I say hot, place.
